Tori are the separate orange gate like structures put up in shrines to honor the gods by individual worshippers. The toori tunnels in Fushimia Inari (the shrine for the fox goddess just outside of Kyoto) stretches all over the mountains, and they're gorgeous

Christo definitely drew inspiration from this place for his Gates in Central Park
